Madrona Marsh Nature Center & Preserve, Planted
on Easter, 3/31/02 by Don &
Gwen. Inappropriately, domestic animals are abandoned at this site; these two Easter bunnies,
however, should not proliferate.
The Nature Center is located at 3201 Plaza Del Amo
in Torrance. Park in the Nature Center parking lot and walk across the
street to the northern main entrance. Go to the Interpretive map.
Box # 1 is located at map intersection
O-7 and Box # 2 is in the area of M-15.
# 1 "Don't leave your bunny, bunny" From the Interpretive
map look for the tall multitrunked eucalyptus tree at 60 degrees and
about 100 paces. The box is on the north side of the tree in a large
cavity covered with debris,
between 2 sawn off trunks and the main trunks.
# 2 "Madrona Marsh Bunny
Jr." Find the drinking fountain on the west side of the area along
Madrona. From the fountain count 28 upright fence poles (those set in
concrete) north. The 28th pole is approximately 100 paces north of
the fountain. Walk 26 paces at 140 degrees from the 28th fence pole.
Look for a gnarly dead tree with holes about 3 feet high. The box is
tucked in a hole with tree debris as a blanket for Junior bunny.
